Located on Correo street, at a corner facing El Jardin, Char Rock is very inconspicuous on the outside, so you have to know what you are looking for in order to find it. Once inside, patrons have access to the second floor bar and the third floor terrace. The second floor bar is a dimly lit room with classical Mexican movie pictures hanging on the walls, but the charm comes from the laid back atmosphere. It is not strange to see the owner greeting patrons and bartending at the same time. People of all ages and origins congregate to enjoy live music on the weekends, where bands perform anything from Spanish Rock hits to Salsa and Merengue music.
The third floor might as well be a completely different bar if it wasn't for the same characteristic charm. The terrace is a simple space with old chairs and tables, with the railings decorated by white Christmas lights. The live music can still be hear, although at a much lower volume, making it easier for patrons to talk to each other. Cheap drinks and a laid back atmosphere make Char-Rock a safe choice for a fun time, proving that you do not have to go to a high-profile bar to have a good time.
